with artist and activist Dr. Eliza Chandler.
Tuesday September 29, 2015
Means of Production Speakers’ Series at Ryerson University, a project of The Studio for Media Activism & Critical Thought, presents an interactive lecture with Dr. Eliza Chandler. From “Elephant Man” to “The Theory of Everything”, Hollywood cinema often presents disabled subjects as either pitiable or inspiring. Art and media by disabled people themselves tells a different story. Dr. Chandler discusses her work about the development of disability arts in Canada and shares skills in the technique of digital storytelling.
