Dames Making Games

The workshop, led by Merritt Kopas, highlights the work that women are doing in games and the alternative forms of play being built by women and other marginalized groups.

merritt is the author of games like HUGPUNX, and Take Care and is the editor of Videogames for Humans, a Twine anthology published by Instar Books. Right now she’s on a mission to tenderize videogames and is making work about Polish grandmothers, Christian mysticism and public sex in the 1990s. She is part of the non-profit feminist organization Dames Making Games – in which this event was named after – dedicated to supporting dames interested in making, playing, and changing games.
