Climate Justice UofT

Climate Justice UofT is a student-led group at UofT advocating for global liberation of life & land and the divestment of fossil fuels. In 2023, students part of this group participated in a 18 day sit in at Victoria College calling for their divestment in fossil fuels.

Palestine Solidarity Collective 

The Palestine Solidarity Collective is a group at York University that advocates for Palestinian human rights at York University.

Ted Rogers Indigenous

Ted Rogers Indigenous is a student-led group founded by Cody Anthony. The group aims to build an inclusive space for Indigenous business students and entrepreneurs while advocating for larger Indigenous representation in leadership roles. In August 2022, they hosted the Reconciliation in Business conference that brought together over 500 people to celebrate Indigenous peoples in business.

U of T Hong Kong Extradition Law Awareness Group

The UofT HK Extradition Law Awareness Group was formed in 2019 to spread awareness about the Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill (or Anti-ELAB) movement in Hong Kong.

The PEARS Project

The PEARS Project is a grassroots, trauma-informed coalition that provides support and resources to survivors of sexual violence across the University of Toronto.  Founded and led by survivors through survivor-centred principles such as autonomy, consent, equity, mutual aid, support, and care.

Reimagining Safety Coalition

The Reimagining Safety Coalition is a student-led coalition advocating for community-led, abolitionist and trauma informed safety outside of policing. In 2023, they released an audit of the university’s safety protocol.

The Varsity

The Varsity is the University of Toronto’s tri-campus newspaper since 1880. Led by a masthead of students, the paper has played a significant role in breaking news of corruption, covering moments of student resistance, and holding the university accountable on their promises.

CJRU 1280

CJRU1280 is Toronto Metropolitan University’s campus radio station that airs a variety of shows like Atlas of Resistance and BlackTOCanada.

Museum Professionals of Colour

Museum Professionals of Colour (MPOC) is a University of Toronto based student association aimed at addressing the lack of racial diversity and representation within the Faculty of Information’s Master of Museum Studies (MMSt) program. MPOC hopes to  create greater networks of museum professionals of colour, who may further impart their knowledge and experiences to the next generation of racialized professionals entering the arts and culture sector.

The Diversity Working Group

Formed in 2019 by Tomoko Shida, Moska Rokay, Renee Saucier, Stefanie Martin and Tam Rayan, the Diversity Working Group was created in response to a dissatisfaction with the absence of a critical race perspective in the curriculum and a seemingly general lack of awareness and concern for racial equity at the Faculty of Information.

The group seeks to improve the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Colour (BIPOC) and LGBTQIA+ information professionals at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information and beyond through workshops, reading groups, special events, and advocacy work with faculty and university administration.
